Volunteers Needed for Game Show

The R.A.C.E. 4-H Gymkhana Day is coming up pretty fast! In order to make this (and all our events successful) we need volunteers....lots of volunteers. We are asking club leaders to ask member's parents to volunteer for one of the many jobs below. We also need kids to volunteer! The club that logs the most volunteer hours at the gymkhana will get a special award. Also, there will one point awarded to each member toward Year End Awards for every hour the member volunteers. Coggins Papers Checkers: checking coggins papers at the gate to make sure they match the horses in the trailer. Can be older teen or adult. Must be detailed oriented.

Parking Attendants: Several adults to help with parking. Strong personality is needed!

Gate Attendants: Adults or older teens....help to get the classes in and out of the ring.

Announcer: Adult to announce the winners and other things as needed.

Ring Crew: Adults, teens and kids who can help move barrels, poles, jumps, etc.

Ribbon Runners: Teens and kids who can hand out the ribbons to the winners.

Concession Stand

We have quite a few expenses ahead of us at the year end (think Year End Awards Dinner!!) and we are looking for people to help run the food stand to help bring in some extra money. The food stand is a great way to make that extra money for the kids! We need as many people as possible to run the food. We all want to watch our kids show and if we have everyone take a turn or two at the food, we can all enjoy the show! We are looking for a Food Committee Chair to take this idea and run with it. We are also looking for folks to donate hot dogs, rolls, cases of water, cases of soda,cases of individual bags of chips and paper products. We already have someone who has offered to make two crock pots of chili. YEAH! Anyone out there make a mean pulled pork?

Directions:

I-85 North, Exit 74, Julian Road, At top of ramp, turn left onto Julian Rd. At the intersection, turn left onto Jake Alexander Blvd/ 601 South. Follow for 6 miles until road ends. Turn Left on 601, go about 1 mile, turn Right on East Ridge Rd. Ellis Park Event Center is 2 miles on left. (Do NOT turn left at the Ellis Park sign- (ball fields). Go thru Ellis X-roads and Event Center on left. Formerly known as Ellis Saddle Club.

I-40 Mocksville, NC, Exit 170 for US-601 toward Mocksville/Yadkinville. (Go 0.3 mi) Turn onto US-601/Yadkinville Rd towards Mocksville. (Go 1.4 mi) Turn left at Yadkinville Rd.
