The October Horse show sponsored by R.A.C.E. 4-H was a huge success despite the rain and clouds looming all day. There were 61 riders showing 71 horses. Thirty one of those riders were Rowan County 4-H members! We had a wonderful crowd and a super judge, Mr. Roger Moore, who stuck it out until after 7 pm. Our trail judge, Mr. Jim McKee, was a super help to our riders whose horse were a little nervous about the trail class.
The food concession, run by Steve Lund, was a huge hit selling out of hotdogs not once but twice! Thank so much to all the volunteers who helped Steve keep our riders and volunteers fed.
The new jumps, painted by our 4-H members, looked amazing and we got quite a few compliments on them. One good thing about the rainy weather is that it kept the dust down to nothing! Let us not forget about the size of our classes! We had 18 horses in Open Western Halter! All of our participants were winners by showing up and showing what amazing work they have done with their horses this year! Congrats to everyone!
